How we make furniture

There are several key components needed to create a piece of furniture. The length of the journey from idea to full realization depends on many factors. It is influenced by: the complexity and scale of the project, the types of materials, and others. Here we will introduce the most important stages in the creation of a piece of furniture and show related interesting facts.

Idea

It all starts with an idea. Most often it is some kind of novelty - a new style, detail, application or function. The idea is the starting point from which we begin the journey to the finished product. Often in the course of this journey, the initial idea undergoes metamorphoses, improvements and various kinds of changes. Always, however, the source of inspiration manifests itself in a significant way in the finished piece of furniture.
In the case of furniture from the Tomorrow collection, such a key element is the concave and repeatedly rounded design of the legs.

Visualisation

Translating an idea from the realm of imagination to reality begins with visualization. Sketches and freehand drawings are the first step and allow you to see part of the design. However, a better view is provided by three-dimensional models. Well-prepared 3D solids allow you to look into every corner of the project. Based on them, we create renderings to evaluate and improve the design.
At this stage we make key decisions about the purpose, functionality, proportions and shapes of the product. Virtual validation of ideas often leads to their multiplication, and a whole series of furniture can be created from one initial detail.

Technical design

The conceptual phase ends when the design is ready to complete the details. Here we choose specific materials, design connections and give final dimensions. In doing so, we are guided by non-negotiable construction principles and strength criteria. The result is a clear and complete technical design in the form of drawings, material specifications and detailed 3D models.

Prototype

The next stage is the production of a prototype - the first design of the product. It allows, first of all, to verify technical and technological assumptions. In this way, we once again improve the design itself, but also the production methods. The physical product allows us to test functionality, durability and visual impressions. At this stage we get full information about the product, its features and potential customer experience.

Manufacturing

With the experience gathered at all the previous stages, we can start producing and selling the furniture. Here we implement all the improvements, adapt the details of the technology to the specifics of the product, and fasten the last buttons. The piece of furniture is ready.

However, none of the above-mentioned stages ends the work on the project. Each of them can also have several cycles - sometimes, for example, more than one prototype is needed. Constant evaluation and improvement is needed for the product to continually evolve. With the practice of production, new information and experience is gained, which informs us of opportunities for improvement. Another, one of the most valuable sources of information is our target customer. Therefore, we encourage you to share your comments and opinions about the product with us.
